The District of Squamish advises there will be traffic control on Government Road from Mamquam Road to Harris Road.

In regards to students and parents accessing Mamquam Elementary School, please be advised:

• the path south of the school, on the east side of the road will be open and can be used as usual prior to school beginning  
  
• there will be a designated walkway on the east side of Government Road which will be de-lineated from the construction zone and monitored by traffice control people on the north and south end of the construction zone.  It would be appreciated if parents and students take extra care around the construction zone and stay within the designated walkway.  Safety is the main prority 
  
• construction fencing will be placed at the north end of the school parking lot to block traffic from exiting in the vicinity of active construction.  This fencing will also direct pedestrians to the designated walkway   
  
• construction activity has eliminated the walkway on the west side of Government Road north of Garibaldi Way.  As a result, cones will be placed on the east side of Government Road north of Garibaldi Way to de-lineate the walkway.

All school vehicle traffic must come from the direction of Mamquam Road, enter the main parking access area and exit to the south end of the parking lot.  The north end parking lot will be BLOCKED off.

Please note:  it is advisable that parents either park or drop off students at the overpass near the Sea to Sky Hotel/London Drugs,  rather than travel on Government Road
