École Mamquam Elementary School is located in the Recreational Capital of Canada, Squamish, B.C., between Vancouver and Whistler, at the head of Howe Sound. Our school was opened in 1956 and has grown over those years from 4 classrooms to 17 classrooms. We are a dual track school, offering instruction in both English (Grades K-7) and Late French Immersion (Grades 5-7). Having the Late French Immersion program draws students from all other elementary schools in Squamish, making our school an amalgamation of our community and the largest elementary school in Squamish. We offer our students a variety of sports activities to participate in, and compete with our other local Elementary schools, as well as those in Whistler and Pemberton. You will see our blue and white jerseys running the cross country trails, competing in volleyball, basketball and floor hockey, among other sports. Our school also enjoys the availability of other local recreational programs like kayaking, hiking many of the wonderful trails and local mountains, skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking, visiting the local estuary habitat, hatcheries and helping repair local streams and riparian environments. |
